Welcome! Thanks for taking a moment to learn a little more about Windy Hill Designs.
My name is Carol and I've been making pillows and totes for several years and more recently checkbook covers. In addition to selling on this website, I sell my wares on Ebay. I've also written instructions on sewing napkins and table runners.
This year, 2007, will bring many changes to this site (at least I'm hoping to accomplish all my projects). In addition to the main website, I will be creating new sub-websites with instructions and information on sewing, floral design and gardening. The first of which will be one on sewing. The instructions on sewing napkins and table runners will be updated to reflect the changes that I've made to the process. I'll also be adding new instructions and free patterns with all the details you need to make your own. First project: checkbook covers.
A little later this spring, I'll start a series called Flower Arranging for the Home Gardener on another sub-website. This series will provide all the instructions and pointers you need to take flowers from your garden and turn them into beautiful displays for your home. Plus pictorial instructions on some basic mechanics that will help create a great arrangement the first time out. As an example: ever notice the plastic grids that are on some arrangements of a dozen red roses? You can make one yourself using clear waterproof floral tape. I'll show you how!
The third and final sub-website will be about gardening. I'm creating a new cutting garden to provide all the flowers I'll need to create my flower arrangements. I'll be sharing the design and progress.
